The Laurels School considers applications throughout the academic year but those arriving before 1 January 2019 will be considered as part of the primary intake and be more likely to receive an offer. We will be a double form entry with approximately forty-two places available for Year 7 in September 2019. Applications are also available for Year 9 (13+ entry) as well as for VI Form (16+ entry). There is a £100 registration fee.

The parent(s)/guardian(s) of an applicant will be invited to interview with the Headmistress or other member of our Senior Management Team. This is an integral part of the admissions process and will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time during term and within school hours.
Applicants will be invited to sit an admissions exam which provides us with a comprehensive profile of their reasoning abilities and future learning potential. Applicants will also take part in a group interview on one of the following dates:

Thursday, January 17
Thursday, January 24
References will be sought from the applicant’s current school.
Once the interview and the assessment have been completed, a place will be offered to all eligible candidates, subject to availability. If no places are currently available to eligible candidates, they will be placed on a waiting list. Parents of children who are not eligible will be informed as soon as possible.
To accept the offer of a place, parents should return the offer form together with a deposit of £2,290 by the date specified in the offer letter. This constitutes a formal acceptance of their daughter’s place, and the deposit is non-refundable if the place is not taken up.
Thereafter, a full term’s notice, in writing, must be given should they wish to withdraw their daughter from the school. The deposit will be returned during the pupil’s last term in the school, provided all outstanding fees and charges have been paid.
