On the last week of the Spring Term all of Key Stage 3 enjoyed a fantastic workshop at The Globe theatre. The girls got to visit the theatre and found out that it is an exact replica of the theatre where William Shakespeare used to have his plays performed and in the same exact location (!). The different elements found on the stage and what they represent were discussed and the girls had the opportunity to practice different acting skills in a workshop led by actors of the fantastic Royal Shakespeare Company. All the references and texts used in the session came from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” which all the girls had studied in Y7 at The Laurels. The outing was great fun for all involved and everyone enjoyed the thespian experience!
