How to apply to The Laurels
The first step is to visit the school to learn more about a Laurels education. Click here for details of upcoming events.
Apply for a place at the school using our online form. The application fee payment of £100 must be made via the payment platform before your application will be processed.
Our admissions department can answer any questions you have.
Prospective pupils will be invited to sit an admissions exam. Places are offered based on academic aptitude but may not be offered in rank order as other factors, outlined in the Admissions Policy, are also taken into account. The entrance exam for Year 7 consists of papers in English and Mathematics. Specimen papers are available to download via the links below.
References
References will be sought from the applicant’s current school, following receipt of the application form.
Parent/Guardian Interview
We invite all prospective parents/guardians to an interview at the school. This is an integral part of the admissions process and the admissions office will help you to find a convenient date to meet Mrs Sanders, the headmistress, or another member of the senior leadership team.
Pupil Interview
Prospective pupils have an interview with a member of the school leadership team. This allows us the opportunity to learn more about each individual applicant and for them to find out more about life at The Laurels. Year 7 entrants normally are interviewed as part of a small group on entrance examination day.
