The benefits of volunteering

International Volunteer Day

5th December is the annual day designated by the UN to mark the role of volunteers in society throughout the world.

Our U-LEAD Volunteering Programme is an opportunity for pupils at The Laurels to make a meaningful impact on our community. By volunteering time and skills, pupils can contribute to various projects and causes that matter to them. This is a chance to give back and show their commitment to making the world a better place.
By signing up for the U-LEAD program, pupils are committing to volunteering for the entire academic year. We encourage each of them to dedicate at least one hour a week to help others. This commitment will not only benefit our community but also provide them with valuable experiences and personal growth.
We believe that every one of our pupils has something unique to offer, and their participation in the U-LEAD Volunteering Program can truly make a difference. Pupils have shown enthusiastic responses, and witnessing the positive impact we can create together is inspiring.
Over 90 pupils at The Laurels School are taking part in this program. The volunteering opportunities include mentoring at The Laurels, leading clubs at our prep school, Oakwood School London such as robotics, art & craft, Little Bethany, Netball, Football, etc. This week, we are extremely excited to start our Reading Club at our neighbouring primary school, St Joseph Catholic School.
Let's join hands and work together to build a better community and a brighter future!
